Dr. Goldenberg is a licensed clinical psychologist who has been in private practice for over 25 years providing in-depth individual and couples therapy,   while also providing intervention services to children with emotional and developmental disorders.

He provides couples therapy dealing with: reactive communication; sexuality; anger; finances; and betrayal. Dr. Goldenberg works to bring out into the open each partners’ concerns about the relationship, and their way of talking and listening to one another. When disagreements flair up, individuals usually get into a predictable pattern of ‘reacting rather than responding,’ and this can over time create painful feelings of dissatisfaction and ‘wanting out.’ Often accompanying current emotional conflict are ‘projections,’ a transfer of past unresolved childhood issues that ‘fit’ with the present situation. It is therefore important to learn how to recognize your own transference patterns—so you can take back your projections. As well, developing yourself into a skilled ‘sender and receiver’ of communication is key to working through old hurts and impasses so as to create the intimacy and companionship you both desire.

Dr. Goldenberg also treats adults in individual therapy dealing with issues of loneliness, anxiety, depression, and fear of risking change. He uses psychodynamic therapy that integrates ‘Feeling Release Therapy,’ that helps access conditioned ways of thinking and feeling about oneself. Within this therapeutic process an individual can come to understand where they are, how they got there, and how to develop realistic personal goals – a road map to get more of what they want in their life
